A Heart Within a Kidney: The Story Behind Our Necklace
Some pieces of jewellery are just pretty things we wear. Others carry entire stories inside them, stories of love, resilience, and family. For me, this Kidney-Heart Necklace isn’t just another design in my collection. It’s a part of my life, a reminder of a journey my family and I will never forget.
Our Story
When I became a mum, I thought I understood love. But nothing could have prepared me for the path we would walk after discovering that my son was born with chronic kidney disease.
Hospitals became our second home. Surgeries, blood tests, doctor’s visits, and endless waiting rooms shaped our days. Watching your child grow up with an illness like this is a mix of heartbreak and awe, heartbreak at the pain they endure, awe at the courage they show every single day.
This year, our lives changed forever. My son received a kidney transplant. His donor was his dad, my husband, his hero, our hero. I’ll never forget the day of the surgery, the fear, the hope, and the overwhelming gratitude that filled our hearts. That moment wasn’t just about survival; it was about love, sacrifice, and the bond that holds a family together.
Why I Designed This Necklace
Since he was born, we knew that a kidney transplant would be part of his journey, and as a mum, I always wanted to create a piece of jewellery that could hold all the emotions and serve as a reminder of resilience. A symbol of the bond that carries us through the hardest days. A way to keep hope close to the heart.
When we knew the transplant was finally going to happen, it felt like the perfect time to bring that vision into the world.
That’s how the Kidney-Heart Necklace was born. A heart charm with tiny kidneys nestled inside, representing love, courage, and the strength that comes from family.

I know many families have their own journeys with chronic kidney disease, organ donation, or other health battles. I hope that this necklace offers comfort, hope, and a little sparkle to those stories as well.
